Integrated Pest Management
IPM is a process you can use to solve pest problems while minimizing risks to people and the environment. IPM can be used to manage all kinds of pests anywhere–in residential, commercial, agricultural, and wildland or natural areas.
Dealing with nuisance wildlife in commercial and residential settings is complicated. Our goal is to deliver the most effective and environmentally responsible solutions while keeping you informed along the way.
Read about our process below!
Inspection
Diagnosing the whole scope of the issue is step number one. We have been called to houses with a "squirrel issue" and found evidence of Raccoons, Gray Squirrels, Mice, and Flying Squirrels nice and cozy in the same attic! That's why we inspect the entire structure from roofline to foundation. This gives us the full picture of the issue you're already aware of and especially those you aren't!
This is the main reason our inspections are FREE.
No two of our jobs are the same. So we evaluate first, then walk you through the options and costs.

Squirrels entering through rotted trim boards on gutters.
Rat entry two stories up! Your average pest company won't catch these.
Wildlife Removal
Most animals become "pests" or nuisances to humans once they have discovered some part of the good life we live. They nest in attics because it's warm, dry, soft and free of predators. Same goes for anywhere else on a structure. Food, water, and shelter are the primary instincts that drive animals in.
Many people resort to waiting for the animal to leave and sealing it out. But unfortunately those instincts will often drive them to great lengths to get back in. We use a variety of traps, one way doors, tools and repellents, to make sure the animals are successfully removed and then we can begin the work to repair the structure.

Snakes often squeeze into tiny openings.
Exclusion
Even new homes have gaps and openings that all sorts of critters can use to enter. Using skills from multiple contractor trades we make sure the structure is sealed off to animals and moisture, as well as looking good as new! We have products to remedy issues with ridge and attic vents, gutters, roofing, chimneys, siding and foundations.
Trust a wildlife expert in sealing your home to be sure that you don't have to deal with problems down the road. Since animals are unpredictable, all of our exclusion work comes with a warranty. Even if they try to get in somewhere new next time, you're completely covered!
Sanitizing
Unfortunately animals are often accompanied by viruses, diseases and ectoparasites. Bat bugs, fleas, rabies and histoplasmosis are examples of the serious and even deadly hazards that we handle daily. We use HEPA filters, protective equipment and three different treatments to ensure the structure is perfectly safe and sanitized after the furry ones are removed.
At Piedmont Wildlife we specialize in safely removing feces, nest material and soiled insulation as well as treating for ectoparasites and sanitizing the entire space that was compromised. We even install new insulation, vapor barriers and other products to help reduce the chances of future pest issues.
